Recently my iPhone 6 has simply not worked when using (or trying to use) 3G data. In the past it has always been fine, and I often used the phone as a hotspot. As far as I can recall I haven't changed any settings. Any suggestions?

I agree fully, go with that, and get back to us with results

EDIT

My reply was tongue in cheek as there was a blank post by the OP

Good point, I was about to ramble not settings stuff.

OP can try a hard restart. Holed down power and home button for as long as it takes for the logo to appear.

Reset Network Settings is another option. That will only cost you the saved passwords for the wifi

Prepay? As S said, it might be that your feeling for what data is left may be off

OT Note. The hard restart in iOS is always the go to thing to do, but turning the phone off then on, is actually better, as that clears cache and other maintenance  stuff

tdgeek, thank you! All working now. I'd already tried a hard restart -- I didn't realise switching off then on was any better. But that did the trick
