Hi everyone

My wife had just been given the 12.9inch iPad Pro by her work. Looking at keyboard options, the Logitech one for $250 seems to do much the same job as the official Apple one at $319.

Is there any material difference between the two, other than the price?

Thanks very much.

I've been using the 9.7" pro Apple keyboard cover and it's really great.  I was skeptical of it given I thought a third party would be better, but it's so nice to type on and a really nicely integrated cover.  If you can spring for it I recommend it.

Is it this one? http://www.logitech.com/en-nz/product/create-ipad-pro-keyboard

It looks to be a full case whereas the Apple one is a cover.  So I guess it depends on how much bulk you're happy to add to the iPad.

I have the small apple bluetooth keyboard that I use with the 9.7" ipad. I like the keyboard because the keys have a good spacing and the batteries last quite a while.

For portability am looking at getting the microsoft universal keyboard

Thanks for the comments all. Does the Apple keyboard fold flat behind it like the Smart Cover? The reviews I've read don't comment on that. A lot of our use will be sitting with it on our lap without needing the keyboard just randomly surfing.

Yep of course, and you can just remove the cover and put it down to the side any time you don't want to use it.  It's just connected by magnets like the regular Smart Covers.  See here for all the various configs: http://www.apple.com/smart-keyboard/

Thanks, and the magnets (from what I read) must make it easier to remove than the Logitech one?
