Can I get some feedback as to what chipset people are getting in there iPhones. Especially when ordered through Vodafone.

Been doing a bit of reading and see Apple now use Intel Model A1778 and A1784 and also Qualcomm Model A1660 and A1661.

The reason I ask is our bach has spotty reception and seems Qualcomm version has much better cellar speed and coverage  in test people have done. Especially in bad coverage areas.

So want to make sure I get this model when ordering wifes new phone. Apple NZ web site has both versions listed so not sure what they actually shipping.

I don't know, but have read that the Qualcomm modems are only in iPhone 7 devices for sale in the USA, China, and Japan.

Unfortunately that sounds like, unless you buy from a parallel importer, or import yourself, it will be the poor Intel modem here.

Oh that sucks. Hopefully it's still on par at least with the 6 it's replacing.
