Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a smart battery case for an iPhone 7 (black if possible) that they may want to sell.  OR if anyone knows any retailers in NZ whom have them in stock.  Apple Store NZ doesn't have them in stock for some weird reason (but the AU store does).

Thanks so much for your help and apologies if it's in the wrong section!

Alex :)

Also wondering about this...

Would YouShop forward this from the US since it has a battery inside?

According to their website they wouldn't allow it:

https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/youshop/shopping-with-your-youshop-address/dangerous-prohibited-items

"Lithium-ion and Lithium polymer batteries can’t be sent from the US via YouShop."

Even if the battery case is in the original apple packaging?

I found the quote below from the larger YouShop thread.

"From Youshop restricted items page:

Electronic items with lithium-ion batteries

Li-Ion batteries have to be packed in the manufacturer's packaging. The retail packaging that comes with new cell phones, tablets, power tools etc., complies with air shipping regulations. Unfortunately, used items shipped without manufacturer’s packaging do not comply and are illegal to ship."

Reading that really makes you wonder, When will the next IED be a cellular phone?

Note 7 aside

the official word from YouShop

Thanks for your patience with this.

Our warehouse have advised the smart battery cannot be shipped using our network - this is because we use the cargo hold of passenger aircraft's and this item can only be transported by freight only.

Did anyone ever manage to get hold of one of these? Seems strange that the 6/6S Smart Battery Case is available from Apple's online store, as well as Noel Leeming (online and physical). I wonder if it's because they already have stock physically in NZ and therefore don't need to airfreight them overnight like they do with most orders from Apple's online store?
