Looking to buy a good charging dock for my iphone 7 that also has an Apple leather case for my nightstand. A few nice ones on Amazon but they wont ship to NZ sadly.

Anyone got a good one they can recommend?

TwelveSouth HiRise is good, but Apple's Lightning Dock is good enough and should work with any case.

I use the official Apple dock with an Apple leather case, works perfectly.

Yup it is expensive, but it is good quality. I think there's an assumption you use the cable that came with the phone to plug it in to the dock.

Most docks don't come with cable. Some, like Belkin, does have built-in cable but then they're not universally case friendly.

I just bought a HiRise 2 deluxe and at $99 it is expensive but it comes with cables and is fully adjustable for any case.  It also has back support that the Apple dock does not have.

I used to find locating my phone on the apple dock was a pain and quite often the connector would slip between the case and the phone - and scratch the phone mildly.

With the hiRise this does not happen because the back support is adjustable forward and back.

There is a non deluxe version but it is plastic and it does not come with the cable, and I don't know if the back support is adjustable or not.

I now have a apple dock (black - without cable) that I am looking to part ways with if you are interested?  Although I may have just talked you out of a sale.  I wish I had bought the HiRise 2 deluxe to start with.

Thanks for tips...I had read bad review for the Apple dock and great reviews for the TwelveSouth HiRise, but it just seems a bit high for a bed stand.

high in price or in actual height?

I find it is a perfect height and a great viewing angle (and the bottom speakers aren't obstructed because it is elevated).  It is also extremely stable in comparison to the apple dock so you can use the phone.

Also a correction of a previous post.

The Deluxe model is the same as the regular model, except that colour matched MFi-certified Lightning and micro-USB cables are included in the box so you don’t have to sacrifice one of your OEM Apple Lightning cables to use it (micro-USB is for Android phones, if you have one).

I just thought I would post an update on my experience with the HiRise delux. In a word it's awesome. I have had Belkin docks and the official iPhone dock in the past and this one beats them all hands down.
It is a good looking unit and the build quality is great. It is also adjustable so it fits with the two cases I have. It is by far the easiest I have found to locate the phone onto because of the back support.
I thought I wouldn't like the height on the bedside table but I find it perfect. My mattress is the same highly as the bedside table so with my head on the pillow it is the right height to look at.

I posted this as I have had it a couple of weeks now.
