Hi,

I brought new AirPods just over week ago. First week real great.

Just to night when no sound going through them about every 10 to 15 seconds it comes up connection lost. It also makes the sound it makes when put first one in ear, so have that sound playing in ear every 10 to 15 seconds.

While sound is being played they are fine. Have goggled it, but it only mentions people complaining of losing connections during phone calls, guess on a phone call there be periods where other person not talking for 10 to 15 seconds.

I was using it to watch Apple TV so unlike music there was some quiet periods, it was fine in first week, so looks like to me their latest firmware is buggy. Firmware version 3.7.2.

Are they working alright for everyone else?

When connected to my Mac I find that my Airpods disconnect after a period (maybe 10 minutes?) of disuse, then immediately reconnect again. I have always assumed that the disconnect is a power saving action, and the immediate reconnect is the Mac panicking and ordering the Airpods to liven again. If so then it's poor design, but nothing major.

Disconnection after a period as short as 10 seconds is not something that I have experienced with the current or previous firmware so in your case I think a call to AppleCare might be in order.

Cheers. They seem ok this morning.
But if they keep doing it, I'll give Apple a ring.

I turned off automatic ear detection last night, but they still kept losing the connection,
But at least the disconnect, reconnect sound stopped playing, I'll leave that off for now.

I find that they're quite sensitive in terms of the ear detection, sometimes when I re-position them it thinks I've removed and then replaced them and it plays that connection sound.
