I am about to update my Ipad pro to a new 10.5. For the first time I am considering taking applecare cover. I read that , and dont quote me , you are allowed a couple of "accidents" that they will cover.

Being a person who has managed to drop two ipads , I was wondering if anyone has had this happen?. They have an ipad they dropped whilst under the apple care and apple fixed it up no problem.

To me this would be a valid expense even though I have contents insurance there is a hefty excess.

So just wondering worth it or not?

With Applecare you still have to pay an excess for accidental damage - I think it's $75 for the iPad.

I have always found Applecare worthwhile just for the phone support, although I have to admit that I haven't needed to call them for quite a while.

I have not claimed on Apple car but have seen it as worthwhile insurance in the past when I simply could not have afforded to replace the device if I had dropped or damaged it.

Haven't bothered with my iPhone 7 as over the years I have never had to claim anything.
