The wife has an Ipad and iphone both come from AU. One charger died some weeks ago and the second one has now died. Because they are permanently plugged into the walls, I have never noticed that the pins don't have protective sleaves and that they have holes in them.

Does any body else have apples changers like this? To me they look fake.

Definitely not AU/NZ plugs. EDIT: Definitely fake, even China plug is not like this. If they skimped here (looks like US type pins) where else did they skimp? Buy some branded chargers locally and smash those to bits, IMO, a lot of the fake iphone chargers are not very safe.

Yeah. We are so confused as to where they have come from and neither of us have purchased any on ebay/banggood/alieexpress and we have no idea where the originals have gone. It's like somebody has substituted our original for fakes. But this sound ridiculous.

Nope. iPad I got from Duty Free in Sydney Airport and the iPhone was ordered from directly from Apple Online via AU.

I'm sure I had one of these on a 5s. It was bought from Apple. They're a good size and do have au pins. I'm sure it's just camera angle showing them as straight.

Definitely fake, the text is oriented the wrong way to the pins.

This is not a US charger, the entire shape of the cube is different. Only the AU/NZ chargers are this shape, and the pins are always insulated and oriented correctly on a Genuine Apple article.

These 100% will not have come with a real Apple product so have likely been switched/mixed up.

Also the ones I have like this have an Apple logo above the top line of writing, so these are not even actually purporting to BE Apple chargers 🤔

it's not that they are straight, they are not wide enough, not insulated half-way down, and have holes. NZ/AU pins are wider, don't have holes, and are insulated half-way.

The logo was removed a year or two after this style charger was introduced. I have genuine Apple ones with and without the logo.
