I've just moved house and man I cant get bugger all receoption on my iphone. Other cellphones on the vodafone network get my reception than I do. Telecom no problems.. And Im on call from time to time and need good reception for 2am issues.

I saw this product http://gizmodo.com/377640/review-griffins-iphone-reception-boosting-clearboost-case

Not sure if its compatible with the NZ network maybe someone can comment on that or a another way to boost Vodafone reception?

Cheers,

I read somewhere that holding your iphone horizontally and not letting your hand cover the plastic antenna section improves wi-fi and aerial reception. Seems to work somewhat. Not sure if this would apply in your case.

djpaubes: Telecom no problems..
Cheers,

Have you moved to a rural area? Telecom is renound for its excellent rural coverage. As noted, try taking your hand off the black plastic antenna. Also, try moving around your house, and see if it changes.

Try inserting a wire coathanger into the ipod connector dock and wriggle it around until you get a good connection then splice the other end of the wire and insert it into a walljack.

PS Don't do this its bad advice!! But seriously.. I used to get bad reception in certain rooms and areas of my old house so just test it out around the place. It used to F*&^ me off when I'd walk upstairs to get a drink and all of a sudden get three 2hourold texts come in asking me if i want to go for a coffee or a drink!

hey guys,

So I bought a belkin case with a antenna extender which does make a bit of a difference. Now I can have conversations with poeple from spots I couldnt before... still a bit frustrating but better than before.

cheers
