Was an announcement last year saying this year (my sister is blind so waiting on this big time). Not seen anything since.

I have given up waiting and have made the only sensible choice...its not comping.

On that basis I have since bought 2 Kodi boxes instead of additional ATVs.

And I am heavily invested in Apple gear

Davy: New Apple TV 4K announced today - still no Siri? I don't get it. Siri works just fine on other Apple devices here and it works on Australian Apple TVs where they speak with a similar accent to ours. Does anyone connected with Apple know what the problem is?

To the idea of having a US iTunes account, how does that work, will Siri only work when the US account is active because it' would be annoying for someone like me who uses Neon and Netflix NZ.

Use a second email address to create an apple account based in the USA with no credit card used - see link I posted above. You can install your NZ apps while in your NZ account and they will continue to work as normal, and autoupdate. Then change the Apple TV to your US account and it will automatically ask if you want to use Siri...

You can switch back to your NZ apple account if you want to install NZ specific apps from the app store. Try it, there is nothing to lose and I can't see any risks to what you have at present.

Dictation works fine I use it all the time.

Click and hold the mic icon on the remote and you just talk normally and hold normally the remote. It is very accurate I use it to type out my passwords.
