Pretty much the response I would expect at this stage. They won't tell you it's coming until it's about to drop.

EFTPOS in NZ is not contactless ,
While in Australia it is and offers "tap and pay" for EFTPOS transactions, (as opposed to VISA debit etc)

Yip, hence "apparently".
One of the advantages of EFTPOS is the merchants paying a flat fee, presumably that would be lost with Apple wanting some Apple tax on every transaction.
