I'm loving the X so far. My only one annoyance so far is that I can't 3D Touch on notifications to perform actions (such as the 'Mark as read' on emails, which I use quite a bit) without having Face ID check my face first. That's annoying when my phone is sitting on my wireless charger out of range of my face.

Oh and the non-landscape Face ID (as in, it won't work when the phone is in landscape) is frustrating too. I'm hoping that can be rectified via software updates.

Hi - I haven't kept up with details on actual phone supply levels (I haven't read of other Geekzoners running from store to store in search of stock), so I'm curious if there are any retailers who actually have any of these wondrous devices to actually sell to punters over the counter?? Am I dreaming, or would I be able to buy one of these if I were to realise that I couldn't live without one in the next few days (and it'd have to be a 256GB Space Grey!)?

Good point!

As soon as I picked mine up I started to swipe up, it just feels natural. I have only once gone for the invisible home button so far.

The only issue is that I had to google how to close off the apps, which is a longer process than before. Over all I think the change is actually a positive one as the screen size for the phone size is much nicer than my old 7+

That said if the introduce the iPhoneX2+ with a 6.5in screen I'd have that!

Now we just have to wait for all the apps to be optimised for the new screen size of the X.

BTW when I type the iPhoneX I don't think 10!

No home button is great - swiping up feels completely natural and I do not miss the button. FaceID is also super quick and most of the time I don't even notice it's existence - by the time I've swiped up on the lock screen the phone has already detected my face and unlocked. The only thing I'm struggling with is the muscle memory of swiping up from the bottom to open control center. I've accidentally quit a few apps like this, but I'm totally sure I'll relearn this over the next few weeks.

@clicknz if the carriers sell an iPhone at retail they actually make next to nothing I am sure average is about $30 to $35 per handset

That's a 5W charger so the same as the one in the box (no fast charging). Also, steer clear of no name/"OEM" brand charging bricks - they're a disaster waiting to happen.
