does anyone know how the iPhone's gps works internationally? like will the new zealand iPhone have a new zealand map preloaded or does the iPhone gps use google maps which work anywhere?

well all the videos shown thus far, show the GPS to be working within google maps. So I think it would be safe to assume the GPS iPhone will work within google maps.

There is also a localisation API in the iPhone SDK, which Tomtom have taken advantage of, which uses preloaded maps.
