I have not seen anyone discount iTunes cards for a long time.

Is the practice dead now iTunes is more established ?

Haven't seem any for a while either. Used to be a good Christmas stocking filler...

Pretty sure it got ruined by the busloads of people that were sent to every branch of a store when the deals were on to buy the maximum amount they could so they could be sent to China.

Saw it happening a couple of times - unloaded from a bus, cash in hand, buying the maximum amount of cards they could per person, into a bus, off to the next store.

I thought iTunes cards were only valid in the store of the country you bought them in ?

ie I would have to set my "store" to being USA if I bought cards from the USA, this would after a month invalidate any purchases I had made in NZ.

Correct, they're only valid in the store of the country of purchase.

But they were definitely being bought to send to China.

Millions of dollars worth of them.

That's not really a problem thou,

in terms of Hard core money laundering, there will often be apps in local app stores that will have an offshore developer, the card buyers undertake lots of in app purchases, and voila, less the 30% fee to apple , fresh clean money comes out the other end of the system in the other country.......
