Not sure where to put this but as I’m using an iOS device this is good as any.

I have an iPhone 7 (no headphone jack). I’m using a pair of Sennheiser CX6.00BT earphones and before that I had Jaybird X3’s. I’m having the same issue with both.

If hold my phone in front of me I have no problems, but as soon as I put my phone away in a front or back jeans pocket I get constant dropouts. Every couple of seconds. As soon as it take it out and bring the phone closer it stops dropping out.

Is there anyway I can improve this range between the two devices. Surely BT should work without issue over the 50 cms from my ears to my left arse cheek?

Anytime you put your phone between your body and the receiver/transmitter you will have issues. Bluetooth and water doesn't mix.

I get the the same if I have my phone in my left pocket as the BT receiver/transmitter is in the right ear, No issues if it is in the right pocket.

95% of the time, my wireless headphones to iphone 7 are fine....sometimes I can turn my head to the left, and it will start dropping out.....but then I can be at work, leave my phone at my desk and walk the 5 - 6m to the kitchenette (which has a couple of walls etc in the way) and make a coffee, and the sound is still coming through.

I'm curious to see the responses here, because i get the same sort of thing happening with Sony player and headphones (NWZ-A15 player & MDR10RBT Headphones)

In the office I can have the headphones on and the player could be on my desk 20-30 metres away and not have any dropout in playback, but go outside with the player in my pocket and headphones on, and sometimes playback can be patchy, especially around traffic lights, strangely.

That seems weird,I can’t really help but I’ve got an iphone 7+, and when using any of my headphones (jbl reflect minis, jaybird runs, jaybird freedom f5s and noise cancelling Sony’s)the only ones that came close to losing signal were the jaybird runs. And that’s with the phone in front and back pockets and sometimes in a backpack/satchel behind/next to me.

I occasionally experience very brief and infrequent connection losses with my Bose QC35s, but my AirPods are rock solid even when the phone is in the adjacent room.

I vaguely recall some glitching with the AirPods around traffic lights when I first got them, but that appears to have been sorted with a subsequent firmware update.

Ive had terrible bluetooth on my bose to any phone I have tried, my sonys are much better.

One thing that causes glitches seems to be wifi, whenever it connects or whatever it seems that it causes a short glitch in the audio. I found one day when mowing the lawn with my sonys on that it was great, and later noticed that wifi was off because I turn it off at work to get around the annoying firewall on the wifi an forget to turn it back on for days afterwards.

Also when connected to the car stereo there is always a glitch when I am on the driveway when it connects to wifi. Even tho it should be 5GHz it seems that it does something to the bluetooth. Again, no wifi, much more stable.

I knew there was something causing this, and those bluetooth tracking lamps mentioned above make sense.

Every single morning and afternoon when I walk between work and Britomart (different routes each way), I have really bad connectivity issues between my iPhone XS Max and whatever BT headphones I'm using (4 different brands now). The sound breaks up constantly and they're basically not usable for that brief time of maybe 10-20 seconds when I'm in the area.

These intersections always seem to be the worst.
- Fort St and Queen St.
- Customs St and Queen St.
- Customs St and Commerce St.
- Commerce St and Galway St.

The moment I'm past the intersection and in front of a building, it's crystal clear.
If I hold my phone in my hand to my side on those intersections it's perfectly fine, but if I have it in my back pocket or bag it drops out.

This is in Auckland CBD btw. Customs and Queen St are very heavy traffic areas especially at the times I'm there.

I was visiting Auckland on holiday and I found Nelson street in the CBD particularly bad for BT connections.
