I just applied the profile and tried a few things. After not being able to get data from one location I'm doing fine now at work (kind of pointless since I have wifi here).
I've managed to fly through 500KB just trying out google maps. Nice to be able to bring up a map though when I need it. Probably use that feature over summer now that we don't have to pay $5 just to locate yourself on a map.
One thing is....
I though we were going to be charged $1/MB for the first MB, and then a flat fee until $10. I've been charge $10 after using less than a MB. Shouldn't it be 50c for 500KB? I'm just going to have to turn it off if VF are going to charge me $1 for 1KB of data.
I'm hoping it is just the way that it's implemented. Perhaps it take $1 and then at the end of the day refunds you for what you didn't use. Otherwise I'm just not going to be giving Vodafone as much of my money (because I'll have to turn it off).
They already fleeced me of a 10c per time when my iPhone started downloading 1-2 bytes every hour (though this could be apples problem). Plus it might be nice for apple to include complete control of the data networks available. Why can't I just turn data off in the prefs? Did they really expect every country would have unlimited data? Maybe they did.
