So... I got a new iphone, and it won't read the sim card. It says, "no sim card installed" so I can't even unlock the thing. I pull the sim card out and place it in my old phone and it works fine.

I did mange to get it working with someone elses sim card at one stage, but then I decided to restore the thing, to give my sim card another go, and no luck.

Has this happened to anyone else?

* Not jailbroken
* Bought from the Vodafone store

Hey, yeh I just upgraded today... still no good either. It must be just the sim slot that isn't reading the card. I think I have to take it back to the store tomorrow.

Why can't it just work, so frustrating.

Well if someone elses card worked, and yours didn't it seems logical your card is to blame.

yes, but recently no cards are working.

I went into 3 different vodafone stores today (The store where I purchased my phone was not open), each tried their cards, and didn't work.

So, I have no idea..

> JohnR, yes it has 256k printed pn the card, cheers for the help. I wish it was the sim card that was the problem though...
