Have just ordered a pair for a friend’s birthday present.
So far only black is available to per order with delivery two weeks away. The other colours will launch later in the year.

I’m pretty excited by these. But I seriously love my AirPods, I carry them around with me every where. Will be interesting to see how they compare.

About time! I ended up going the Youshop route with mine and got them from the US about a month ago.

I strongly dislike my AirPods as they don’t stay in my ears if I move my head even slightly, so gymming with them was always a nightmare. Plus I find the sound from the AirPods to be very tinny.

The PBP on the other hand are a completely different story. They fit right inside my ears perfectly (thanks to the different size tips they include) and the sound is fantastic and has great bass. Also love being able to control the volume on them rather than having to reach for my iPhone or Watch.

My one small complaint is that it’s easy to hit the large button on them when you’re adjusting them, which either plays/pauses or invokes Siri depending on the duration of the press.

Oh and don’t expect to carry these in your pocket - the case is HUGE. Even bigger in person.

I too love my airpods. From what I have read there should be an announcement from Apple in the coming months (probably longer) releasing new Airpods. They will probably be noise cancelling etcetc.

It always amazes me when people say AirPods and EarPods fall out as I’ve never once had that issue. Must have the “right” ear shape.

Good pods? Yes ... if you like the Beats schtick. Overpriced for what they are ... definitely.

Do you have first-hand experience with the PBP or are you just rattling off some anti-Beats nonsense?

If you read the reviews (or actually use the product) you’ll learn that these are actually a great product with very little in the way of competition.

Yeah it’s frustrating for sure. The old style iPhone headphones that shipped with the first few iPhones (before they went to the EarPods and AirPods shape) fit my ears perfectly, so when they redesigned them they no longer worked for me.

I know I’m in the minority because for most people it was a huge improvement!

I auditioned a pair last week when I was in the States. I’m not a fan of the Beats sound in general, and they have the Beats sound.

Beats, in general, are significantly over-priced compared to equivalently manufactured ‘phones (so are AirPods, by the way). From memory I think the Powerbeats are circa $350 nzd equivalent or thereabouts ... maybe $80 or $100 more than AirPods ?

They do have a nice hook that aids in keeping them in the ear. But $100 for that?

Can you link to some examples of equivalent products that are cheaper?

I didn’t realise there were any in the same price range that are completely wireless, with Hey Siri and iCloud syncing to enable one-click usage across all iOS/Mac/Apple TV devices.

If there are then I’d be keen to check them out for sure.

I already did. If you want to buy them, buy them. I’m not going to.

You didn’t mention any products other than AirPods and PBP.

Ordered mine on Friday with 1-2 week delivery estimate. Having been checking everyday for these to release to NZ. I currently use PB3 but find sometimes the cord can pull on the earpiece and slightly move them to break the seal and cause issues with base.

Agree with previous posts that beats may not be the best you can get in terms of sound but they have the integration with the Apple system which is better then anything else out there. As someone who uses a MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad Pro, it changes the way you use headphones between devices completely. It’s why I changed from Sennhieser momentum to beats studio3.

Arrived today. To me they sound about the same as the Powerbeats 3. The fit is a lot better though and they definitely don’t move once in. Having the instant pause when removing from one ear is great and also volume control on both ears so you can use whichever hand is free.
