My wife's iphone 8 plus only does USB 2 transfer speeds. So copying her videos to the PC takes half a day. She refuses to go to Android.

Was wondering if Iphone 11 Pro has USB 2 or USB 3 transfer speeds?

Was hoping someone with an 11 Pro can do a test and let me know ...

Lightning is the limitation.  The transfer speed will be the same until they move to USB-C on the device itself.

That is crazy. THanks anyway. Why do people buy Apple products?

Syncing over Wi-Fi might be faster depending on your home's Wi-Fi setup.

Good point. Can someone recommend an app for that? I just want to copy photos to the PC hard drive and then delete all of them from the phone.

On Windows - USB it's very easy to do. Just takes a literal eternity.

Turn on Wi-Fi syncing in iTunes and it'll sync media to Windows.

Probably because 99% of people won't be transferring data via the port these days. People buy iphones for the ease of use and the ecosystem, as things like apple wataches, Macs, etc just work well together with it. You can't have an apple watch without also having an iphone. They don't allow it to pair with an ipad for example. Many people I suspect wouldn't buy an iphone if the apple watch could pair with an ipad, or even pair with android. .

But it is disappointing that their pro iphones don't have USB C. Especially when the ipad pro now has USB C.

My question is why are you (or your wife) transferring things over USB like it's 2004?

Use a modern solution like iCloud Photos, or upload them to Dropbox from the phone etc.

Oh that'll be the key feature of the iphone 11s ;)

"Lightning USBC" is what they will call it, which of course will be revolutionary 🤣

USB type-C is just a port / connector, it doesn't relate to speed.  You can have USB type-C connector that is at 2.0 speeds.
