I currently have two Mophie wireless chargers which I'm not happy with. One of them charges my iPhone fine, but refuses to charge my Airpods. The other charges both devices, but has a stupidly shaped electrical plug that obstructs adjacent sockets.

I'm looking for wireless charger recommendations that people have positively confirmed to work with Airpods, and with slim electrical plugs, as I don't want to risk spending money on new chargers to encounter the same problems again. I want to buy two of them to replace my existing chargers, and I'm expecting to spend around $60-$80 each.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have a Momax one that charges my iPhone, Samsung work phone and my AirPods Pro equally well - but it's slow

I have a Belkin one from Smith City works fine with my Airpods.

Any wireless charger I have used / seen just has standard micro USB power in, so you can use whatever wall-wart / USB power source you wish?

No, apparently not. The Mophie ones use USB to connect to the power source, but a standard USB port doesn't supply enough current so you have to use the supplied three pin plug adaptor.

I have been doing a bit more research on the Airpods issue, and it's quite interesting. Apparently the newer wireless chargers have foreign object detection, which is triggered by the metal rod in the hinge of the Airpods case. This is why my older Mophie charger works fine, but the newer version of the same charger refuses to charge the Airpods.

With this in mind, I am resigned to the fact that the wireless charging capability of Airpods is essentially useless.

FWIW overall I've been pretty disappointed with the Mophie products I own (Qi chargers, and Qi case/battery packs)

I would never buy another Mophie product ever again

I just tried my Airpods on an Anker wireless charging pad and no problems. So for me it is 2/2 success rate, and my Airpods have only ever been charged wirelessly. So I wouldn't call the capability useless, and especially in light of @nathan comment, perhaps your Mophie product isn't so good.

I think my Belkin one was ~$20 on sale at Smith City, so could be an easy and cheap fix?

From what I can determine the Belkin unit does not have foreign object detection, but the Anker does. Based on what's been discussed here so far I am erring towards thinking that Mophie have a sub-standard implementation of foreign object detection.

I'm still keen to hear from anyone else who has successfully charged Airpods on any other models not discussed here. It would be good to have a few options to choose from before I rush out and buy new chargers.
