After updating to firmware 2.1, I noticed a new setting as Telecom NZ popup in Carrier Setting.

Is this mean, apple finish negotiating with telecom ? and ready to go for holiday season ? ... Sounds excited competition is ready to go ...

It just means that Telecom has a GSM/UMTS tower in your area, and if NZ Comms got off their butts you would see that too

Telecom's network is likely to go live some time in the 2nd Quarter 2009.

Here in Takapuna I get;

Vodafone NZ (3G)
Vodafone NZ
Telecom NZ
NZ Comms

Can only obviously connect to the first two...but good to see the others coming onstream.

Was this originally scheduled for end of 2008 (calendar year Q4)?
Looks like there may not be any special pricing from VF before NY then :(
I am up for renewal end of December.
