Has Apple recently removed the tracking function for older devices? I noticed my iPhone 5c showing as unavailable under the Find My app from my usual phone.

I then turned off Find My iPhone on the 5c which removed it from my iCloud devices but re-enabling that hasn’t put the phone back there. This now means this 5c is registered to my iCloud account but I’ve lost the remote wipe function (ignoring the function still available through my Exchange account), tracking etc

Had it shown up before in the Find My app on the phone you normally use? What about using iCloud.com and using the Find iPhone tab on there?

As you probably know, when iOS 13 was released, the old Find My Friends and Find My iPhone apps were merged into a single app called “Find My.”

The new app doesn’t work on iPhone 5C because the phone doesn’t support iOS 13. The icloud solution suggested by @corksta is the way to go:

Yes it was there. I removed the find my iPhone function from the iCloud settings on the device which removed it from my account - it was previously there and showing as location unavailable. Turning the function back on hasn’t put it back

I’m running using Find My from another phone that’s up to date. The 5c isn’t appearing on my iCloud device list anymore. Those old apps aren’t used to register the device on iCloud but also the old Find My iPhone app does allow me to see other devices regardless, just not itself.

This must be a recent thing as it’s a function I’ve used a lot, including locating where I left the second phone come the end of the day. It’s been useful to leave my 5c in my car when I park at events with makeshift car parks in a field with thousands of other cars.

Maybe pushing it but if your car has CarPlay or a bluetooth stereo, you can find a parked cars last location with an iPhone and apple maps.

My iPhone 6 shows on my iPad Pro, and also a iPod touch around 8+ years old shows.

The applic on iPhone 6 is Find IPhone, and the applic on the iPad Pro is Find My. From both devices all devices show on each.

Maybe location services or something is disabled on old iPhone?

I can still see an old iOS 9.3.5 device under iOS 13.3 Find My

I even signed out of iCloud on it and signed back in ... nothing.  *shrug*.  Curiously when looking at the device list from the 5c it does show, just not anywhere else.
