Hi guys,

Looking to get a wireless charger for my iPhone XR and see some Anker 10W chargers say 7.5W for iPhone (Apple regulated this) and other only 5W?

What exactly can ‘optimised for Apple’ actually mean here?

Surely if it matches the Qi standard and supports 10W it’ll happily do the 7.5W Apple lets their phones charge at?
Here’s the one that somehow only supports iPhones for 5W

Have a read of this review from when the Anker Apple optimised (Powerwave) first arrived. My read is that the info in the 2nd TM auction you linked is a little misleading. The pic that shows the charge speed is dependant on the USB charger it's connected to, not the phone, so the ones charging at 5w are only connected to a 2 amp charger, the Samsung at the top is Quick Charge.

This seems to be the respective products on the Anker site

7.5w

10w

Both say thew will charge iPhone at 7.5w with the correct USB charger.
