Just wondering what people are using for office software on the iPhone? Is there anything that allows you to edit documents and spreadsheets?

Not currently!!
That has been a bone of Contention for many reviewers.
Basically view base documents at moment with no editing-ie Cut & Paste even.
Can view .doc, txt, excell spreadsheets, pdf and jpegs.
Pocket Informant is being released in a month or so-but thats not really an office programme either. More of a Personal Organiser tool.
We are all hoping there will be something soon.
If I recall Symbian S 60 had the " Quick Office " Suite which was reasonably functional.
Have a look at the Yahoo Apple Iphone email group-over 6000 members there. Someone might know of something.

Thanks for the reply psychrn,

I will look into the other forum. It seems strange having such a smart device yet lacking the basic editing/copy/paste functions. Still shouldn't take long at the rate new apps are coming out.
Cheers for now.

Im using an application called datacase which is available or filemagnet which I think you can download through itunes.
Datacase works well with windows and I think filemagnet with Mac. It seems to work extremely well and you can view your files without being connected to the internet on your iphone.

Another way to view excel and word files is to send them to your iphone by email and attach the file. You must use an imap formated email address as you can organise your email into your own folders.

Check out "Spreadsheet". It allows you to create and edit spreadsheets and send them to your pc. It doesn't allow you to upload them at this stage but they are apparently going to add that in an update. Video here

As yet I am not aware of a word doc creator/editor. There are text editors and notepads but not one that creates word docs (well not that I am aware of)

Rumours abound.
Docs to go is apparently on the cards. ??
We will have to wait and see

Hi, Interesting apps, similar to the Air sharing as far as file transfering and viewing go. Docs to go would be a welcome addition, I had it on my ipaq and seemed pretty reliable and quick.
Cheers
