Ok, so I got an update from reQall via email. Apparently reqall is some app I installed then deleted ages ago and forgot to untick the notify me about updates box. In my quest to find a great quality note taking/to-do app that syncs with the web I have tried a few different items. Recently I tried the acclaimed Evernote but it really doesn't live up to the hype and needs some serious work on it to get out of Beta stage.
So I decided to reinstall the latest version of ReQall and man is this thing good! You basically record voice notes, it uploads them to ReQall's website where they are transcribed to text and categorized for you i.e. shopping items if you say BUY first, Notes if you say NOTES, if you say a calendar date like AUGUST 28th or THURSDAY it adds them to your calendar and if you just say something it goes in your To-Do list. You can even sync with GCal, iCal, Outlook and Sunbird.
What really got me though is how accurate the transcribing is even with my Beached As Kiwi accent. I almost suspect that they have a bunch of people in india transcribing the voice notes manually. Sounds ludicrous but can others download and give it a go and see what they think. Reason I'm saying this is I don't know how good the privacy is if there are people transcribing my voice notes for me (no matter how convenient it is)

One of my main gripes with evernote is the OCR is absolutely terrible. I ran a trial where i uploaded dozens of high quality clearly printed photos such as the front cover of books and it had trouble even recognising the titles. evernote is a joke.

Ive heard stories to the contrary-Ie people report that is was excellent.
Ill look for some hard evidence though to back this up.
May only be anecdotal.
