I'm soon going to buy an iPhone outright.  My preference is to buy in NZ, and if at all possible buy from someone who will do a duty free sale that I collect at Auckland airport as I fly to Australia for a few days holiday.  I've tried several Vodafone stores, and they all tell me that they can't offer any duty free service (I know technically there is no duty on them, just GST, but that means I save 1/9th of the retail price).

Does anyone know of any retailer offering iPhone duty free sales, for collection at Auckland Airport?

As an alternative, I could buy in Australia, and claim their GST back when leaving the country.  The problem here is that i don't think anyone in Australia is selling the iPhone without a contract yet.  Does anyone know any different?

Auckland airport list all the store that particpate in their Duty Free pickup scheme

Under electronics there is a place called "Rockyyz Mobilez & More" in Henderson, I dont know if they are telecom or V'fone, but that auckland airport list is probably the best place to start
