Not much publicity on this, pretty nice device though.

Cameras are upgraded, includes Lidar too. Gimmicky unless you have a specific use case.

I've just ordered, as my previous iPad bit the dust.

Funny though, bricks and mortar stores are still selling the previous generation iPad pro as the 'new model'. And, pricing of the new-gen models is the same.

Whoah - thanks for this. I hadn't done my daily 'net search so you're my first news on it. I've been waiting for this new model also.

Cheers,

I have the older iPad Pro and have downloaded iOS 13.4. The trackpad support is pretty awesome.

Wow, I wonder what magic tricks the new "magic" keyboard does starting at $549?

my ipad pro 12.9 gen 1 has slowed down. haven't used it for 3 years but due to current climate picked it up, update the apps and it won't move. like using a pentium. i smell a conspiracy.

Wonder if its worth getting the new one or just get a refurb of the older 2018 model. Don't think my use case will involve much of the camera setup or Lidar.

My wife's works fine other than the fact it says "accessory not supported" when trying to use the (expensive) keyboard, turning the keyboard into an expensive iPad stand.

6GB of RAM too. https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/18/2020-ipad-pro-models-6gb-ram/

"With the 2018 ‌iPad Pro‌, the higher-capacity models with 1TB of storage were equipped with 6GB RAM, while the other models with lower storage capacities featured 4GB RAM. This year, the RAM has been upped and all models have the same 6GB of RAM available."

What I find the most amazing is that the price has only ticked up by ~$70-80,

When you look at the NZD vs USD over the last few weeks Apple must be taking a cut in margin somewhere...

It looks pretty cool.

Not five hundred bucks cool, but cool.

Hey, This is Apple, a company that will charge you $700 for some wheels for your Mac Pro,

or $1000 to put the handles on the front and make it rack mountable...

Apart from news cameras and AR features,  it doesn't look like much of an update. The existing pro was already very fast.

I noticed that price has jumped a lot for NZ buyers! Guessing all new products now will jump up a lot in price due to EXCH rate.

Normally this would have had a big key note announcement, showing how awesome it is. And it does look impressive. Amazing how things have changed. I think it is going to slow down technology advancements and new products, as we are essentially on pause for a good year plus.

The old apple iPad pro 11" 256gb wifi is $1649.

The newly released equivalent is $1679.

Pricing is virtually identical. To be fair, I am not sure about the other models.

The start price for the new gen base model is $1499. Previously the start price for base model was $1399.

Granted the base model has increase storage and new features, but it is still a big percentage price jump.
