Hi Guys, looking around at apps to use on ATV to stream network content from Ext storage. Plex seems to pop up a bit but doesn't do 4K. Infuse(pro) seems to pop up in a lot of forums. Is anyone here using it? If so how are you finding it?

Used it once or twice over the 2 years I've had it.   Everything of mine is in plex....or if I really need to have a video from another source, its just as each for me to use fileexplorer on the phone, ipad, and air play it.

It seemed ok, but I've been in the plex eco system for about 5 years now, so the apple tv had to work into that, rather than the other way around.

Plex supports HDR and 4k using the latest builds. There is an updated Video player, just have to go into settings and tell it what type of display you have.

It was only Plex pass but now its open to all.

Ended up with a new ATV 4K over the weekend and am using a trial of Infuse Pro. Very happy so far

As above, I've been using Plex for a number of years. It plays 4K HDR no issues for me.

Hardwired or over wifi? Infuse is currently doing 4K for me over wifi (tested speeds on average through infuse at 80Mbps) May try moving the ATV to Ethernet cable.

Plugged the ATV into ethernet cable I had at the back of my TV Cab and immediately saw an increase from 75-80Mbps up to a steady 100-105Mbps so I'm going to stay with that as it will make movies and longer shows more stable considering I am pulling the info down off a wifi connected computer with ext HDD attached.

Still very happy with infuse.

Hardwired Cat5e using a 2011 Mac Mini as my Plex Server. My Nvidia Sheild's also have no problem playing 4K HDR from the same Plex server also wired.

I've never tried streaming 4K HDR over wifi.

I've been using Infuse 6 Pro for about 3 months now. I love it!

I have ripped most of my Blu-ray collection to a folder on my PC. I have a SSD which my operating system runs from and an 8Tb drive for storage including my rips.

I was amazed at how easy it was to set up. I did some research on Google, and found all the info that I needed there.

You must name your files correctly, or Infuse won't find the correct metadata for your movie. If you find that you don't have the correct poster/info for your file, its easy to correct it manually.

I use a PC, but a NAS or even a hard drive connected to your router can be used. The beauty of it is, I can use it on my iPad or iPhone as well, but only in my home environment. If you want to watch outside your home, you will need something like Plex.
