I'm in the market for a phone upgrade and see that currently the 11 pro 256gb can be had for the same price as the 12 (128gb). Is there a marked difference in battery life? Aside from all the little updates the 12 will have, any major reason for me to pick one over the other considering the price?

Thanks for any advice 😊

The 11 Pro has an extra camera module, marginally bigger battery and a 6.1" screen as opposed to a 5.8" screen, besides that, the 12 has the faster chipset, not really much in it to be honest.

6 one, half a dozen the other.

Dial111:

The 11 Pro has....a 6.1" screen as opposed to a 5.8"

Other way around, the 12 has the 6.1in screen and the 11 Pro has the 5.8in screen.

Other than that the 12 has 5G, is water resistant to 6m instead of 4m, is lighter than the 11 Pro and can record in Dolby Vision if that has any relevance.

For longevity, the 12 would be supported longer, if that matters to you.

I would go for the 12 if planning to keep it for many years.

have both (work and personal) and they both do the same thing. Cameras, well i cant tell too much between them both. I like the 12 cause of the shape and feel. The only other thing would be a LIDAR that is on the 12 and from what i understand this can help with photos, 12 comes with support for RAW photos, dont know if 11 get this. IMHO the 11 is fine, its going to be supported for a number of years and is a good phone. Battery life i feels the same.

Balm its gone!

there is a minor improvement in 12 vs 11 but i don't consider that a "Marked" difference even with the lidar, yes it is better but nor marked IMO

*never use RAW photos on an iphone as the iphone AI processing is much much superior than a human can. the average human cannot take a raw photo (unprocessed) and apply changes to match the AI - AI always wins. I can't say with video as i have no experience. the only thing i know is video log format is good for grading ...

*my wife takes tens of thousands of photos. they are all AI processed in real time. I tried RAW once on phone and it came out completely unprocessed and spending hours on end i could never match the apple AI in quality or speed.

Do I regret not getting a product I've never used? No. 😁

Ha! Fair enough. Did you give any thoughts to the regular iPhone 11? If not, why not? And if yes, what turned you away from it?

Thanks!
