Has anybody had any success in getting updates for iPhone Apps since the 8.02 iTunes update or the 2.2 iPhone update.
I keep getting errors on both the iPhone or from iTunes.
Very consistent with this threadhttp://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1797732&tstart=0

Still appears to be an issue here  (2.2 and 8.02) but still allows me to purchase/add new applications.  Has not applied any updates in last couple of weeks (2.1 , 8.01 and 7.x),

"Could not connect to internet" error:

Some iPhone users are reporting that they are getting the "Could not connect to internet" error after upgrading to iPhone firmware 2.2.

One of the workarounds to fix this problem is to switch from 3G to EDGE.

App Store extremely slow:

Some iPhone users are reporting issues with the App Store, complaining that it is very slow. However this does not seem to be an issue due to the firmware update but a server side issue due to high load which Apple should fix shortly.

"SIM card not inserted" error:

Some users are receiving an error messageindicating that the SIM card is not inserted, or that a PIN lock is in place when none should exist.

You can sometimes get resolved by removing the iPhone’s SIM card, then connecting it to your computer and restoring. iTunes may then reload the iPhone software successfully, after which you can re-insert the SIM card and attempt synchronization with iTunes.

Kilometers instead of miles in Google Maps

It appears that Google Maps for the iPhone now displays kilometers instead of miles for various countries after upgrading to iPhone firmware 2.2. You can temporarily resolve the issue by selecting ‘USA’ in International settings, though this might result in other problems for iPhone users outside the U.S.

Update:

As per this Apple forums discussion thread, a number of GMail users are reporting problems sending mail from the iPhone via GMail’s SMTP servers, with a “Sender Not Allowed” response. This is not a problem specific to iPhone firmware 2.2, as iPhone users who have not upgraded to the latest firmware are also observing this problem. The problem seems to be on GMail’s end rather than a problem with the iPhone or iPhone firmware 2.2. The workaround for this issue is to turn off Gmail as your SMTP server (until the issue is not resolved) and configure an alternate outbound SMTP server in your iPhone’s Mail settings.

I updated an app about two days ago or so that went fine over wifi (iPod touch 2G though, not iPhone).
Last night iTunes was flooded with people updating and trying to do anything was painfully slow (I gave up and went to bed in the end) but it seemed alright this morning when I updated iTunes and updated the touch firmware to 2.2.

I haven't needed to update anything else but podcasts seemed to download ok.
Gmail is working ok for me, too.

Still down next day.  The way around a couple of key apps for me was to delete the app completely and repurchase.  The store recognised that I had already purchased and allowed me to download.  The problem is knowing which apps had been updated.  I was aware that WeatherNZ was updated to include Surf and Marine, and that TVGuide was updated to v2.  Who knows what else I have that is awaiting an update (iTunes states 25 updates yet none are available).  Hopefully Apple will resolve this issue soon.

I am wondering if this might be due to moving iTMS account from Aus to NZ.  It was originally an Aus account when started with iPhone.   Seems like only solution from Apple prod specialists is to delete the apps and reinstall (repurchase which will then recognise already purchased and download again)

No problems here, running 2.2 happily and have updated a number of apps since. I have noticed that the Wifi connections seems to run a lot faster now then before.

I had this problem.  iTunes and my iphone simply wouldn't download or update an app without throwing some sort of error message at me (this has all happened since I upgraded itunes AND my iphone).   I simply signed out of itunes and signed back in.  Might be a fluke but it seemed to have fixed the problem and I can now download new apps from both my iphone and itunes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions and updates.  I have since restored phone, which did not help, and then deleted all applications and reinstalled.  So far so good but lost any data or settings from the app.The Apple support product specialist was also stumped, and could only think that there was something to do with the profile in moving country.
