DND was a much beloved iOS setting.

In iOS 15 it seems to have vanished and been replaced with the infantile Focus mode for sleep. The difference is that you don't appear to be able to schedule that particular focus mode automatically, unlike DND.

I prefer my phone to be silent between 2100 and 0900. Now it seems I must revert to just switching manually which seems a retrograde step.

Have I missed something?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

My settings were also changed when going to iOS 15. As in I lost the Do Not Disturb settings.

You can find the settings under Settings -> Focus -> Do Not Disturb. Works as previously with the option to "Turn on automatically" on the bottom of the Do Not Disturb settings page.

Actually this looks like a step up - though I’ll adjust to not having looked so a while.
I see now you can select multiple DND schedules, so finally different times for weekends vs weekdays (or whatever suits), or at different locations.
Some good enhancements there I probably wouldn't have found for a while if not for this post!

I note for anyone with a Garmin, the new focus modes don’t really work with notifications and treat all focus modes like the old DND.

Garmin are aware and are working on it.

I don't use DND myself, but apparently some of the notification settings are gone:

The Sleep setting that comes preset seemed to be missing the option to schedule on and off.

I deleted the Apple preset and created a new one, which did then have the scheduling option. All the other Apple presets had the schedule option though, strangely.

I think it was trying to force me to set up some sleep thing in Health. However, as a grown up I'm quite capable of managing my sleep without any interference from my phone!

Has anyone worked out whether you can set Focus to automatically turn off the sounds on the phone?

When working, I want the phone to tell me that I have had calls and possibly to vibrate when they come in, but not to ring.

I can't quite work out how to get focus to do that.

If it can't, then focus seems less useful than just flicking the silence switch on the side!
