So, what is going on here? When the phone is pointing downwards the colour is natural, when I lift the phone it starts getting this yellow hue to it.

I get the feeling that the auto white balance is not exactly working correctly hence the yellow tint.

Is it only doing this while your TV is in frame?

 

It looks like the TV might be messing with the white balance.

Hmmm.... first of all - nice looking home theatre room. Next... the angle of view hasn't really changed much between those two shots, but I'm thinking that it's enough to allow a bit more blue colour from the screen to enter the lens and cause the colour balance (that tries it's best to even out the colours it detects so that it matches a neutral(ish) tone).

 

Similar effect to photographing a predominantly dark scene causing lighter tones to be over-exposed or a light scene pushes darker areas to be under-exposed.

 

So the extra blue could be turning the overall tone towards yellow... maybe more tests needed.
