So after many many years of running a hackintosh and with the advent of the m1 time to ditch it and jump onboard the mac mini train.
Since I already have two nice displays the mini I thought was the best option.

So here is what config I got.

Yay for me.

Cool, thanks for that. I am considering going down this path for our offices.

I just thought this was the cheaper way to go considering I have the displays and mac keyboard already.

$2.5k with apple care I am pretty happy with that.

Edit: You can't even get 10gb network on the imac's and the same spec is $3.5k.

Sweet. That is a beast of a mini. I've only used a base model M1 MacBook Air and the speed is pretty amazing. This mini will be a great little machine.

Very happy with mine - with 16gB ram, but only 256 ssd. Plugged in a 1tb ssd I already had.

I bought refurbished and saved a bit….

Nice, they are great machines. I love that mine is effectively silent, my work laptop really irritates me now with it's turbojet fan.

I can thoroughly recommend this satechi hub, it works great.

I do like the look of that especially being able to put the ssd in the base.

Best I be getting myself one of those.

Edit : Out of stock.

I did have a look at refurbished but they were all intel.

I would not have thought they would have had the M1's as a refurb option so soon ??

I wonder if work would get me something like that instead of a laptop. I don't think I've ever used my laptop screen or keyboard. Though I'm not really a mac person, they look like a great machine.

The MacBook Air would also probably work for you given it has no fan.

Some people have those at work, but I'd have to learn Mac. Great hardware, and I know Linux ok, but I think stick with what you know. Looks like a great system though :)
