My iphone SE just lost NFC, and I need it for some medical devices.  The quoted cost of fixing it is way more than the phone is worth, it needs a new battery and i am getting close to filling it up anyway.

I want to put it away for the inevitable day my son breaks his iphone SE.

What is the best way to store it?  Fully charge or partially charge the battery?   How often should I recharge it?

Your son won't want your stuffed iPhone.

Leave it at the shop when you buy a new iPhone.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Store it at roughly 30% battery, turned off and place it somewhere warm and dry (chuck a bag of silica in a zip-it).

Remove all pin codes etc/iTunes linking in case you forget your password etc.

Have you tried your own maintenance on your iPhone?

- Free up space on your phone by off-loading your important files to external storage.

- Fractory reset or restore.

- Looking for updated drivers may help retore your NFC.

I know of other iPhone SE users who had the same issue, it’s hardware related. Just the NFC stopped working

The OP does not say if he has an SE1 or SE2 model...

A quick search on 'iPhone NFC not working' does show the NFC problem and it may be related to a firmware update.

There is plenty of discussion on how to attempt to fix the NFC issue... Here is an example...
