Friend has an Apple iCloud email address that is an alias of his wife's gmail email address that is used as her Apple ID. His email address is attached to her Apple ID. He is trying to remove his email address from his wife's Apple ID but doesn't seem able to.

Any advice?

Create another email under that Apple id. Make that primary. Then remove the offending email.

Thanks.
One correction though. His iCloud email address is an alias of her Apple ID, not of her Gmail address. Sorry, a slight mis-communication.

Hope I now have the story right!

Same process. Need a completely new email ID.

Good luck. Someone added my Gmail to their Apple ID years ago. No idea how but I picked up and tried to get removed with zero luck at Apple. It was re escalated by Apple for almost 2 years and I still could not get them to remove it. I had to make a new Gmail just to be my backup email for Apple :(
