My wife’’s series 8 is on watchOS 9 6.3 but won’t download latest update. It’s been on auto update but no joy.

Rechecked it & phone are charged, watch is on charger, within range, & connected with Bluetooth. Message shows ‘unable to check for update’. Another watch in the house shows no trouble checking for updates.

Any suggestions please?

I would restart the watch before resetting it - also make sure there is free space :)

Is her phone an iPhone 8/X or older? It won’t support Watch OS10 even if the Watch is capable of it (found this out with my sons Apple Watch SE Series 2 and an iPhone 8).
