Hi guys,

Long story short;

When i search for a contact in mail, it searchs the GAL. but I have no use for the GAL as I am using a hosted changed account (not actually my own compnaies one), so it shows users email addresses and stuff that I dont need.. EVER.

So is there a way to only allow my phone (Serverside, or clientside) to make it only search MY contacts instead of My my contacts + GAL?

About the only option you have, which would be impractical, is to create a new GAL that uses a filter that returns no entries, and then assign that GAL to a mailbox database which your mailbox resides in.

This may be something that other users want, so perhaps having a mailbox database for the express purpose of 'turning off' the GAL for certain users might be an advantage.

Interesting.. I lie - there appears to be a hacky way to disable access to the GAL on a per user basis. ADSIEdit time, not for the faint of heart:

Thanks for that. I will have my exchange host to take a look into it.

Lets just hope he can get it to work :D
