My wife's iPhone 8 has finally kicked the bucket. She is extremely reluctant to get a new phone period and certainly doesn't want to pay $2,000 for a new one. Are there any reputable places to buy a used/refurbished iPhone that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

She loves her smaller red iPhone and really doesn't want anything bigger either. Trying to teach her android is a no go as well. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much.

A number of Authorised resellers still have old stock of the smaller "SE" ,  probably a good place to start.

I just got my wife a brand new iPhone 13 (128 Gb) for $778 from Noel Leeming Black Friday deals.  They advertised at $799, but when I went in store, they said there was a further discount to $778.  They're currently showing at $829 which is still OK.  Not sure what price they would be if you went in store.  Also, I'd be pretty confident they'll come back down to $778 or thereabouts at some point soon, if they've already been selling them at that price.  At worst, that might not be till Boxing Day.

Note, PB Tech had the iPhone SE at $599 in their BF sale.  Again, I'd imagine they'll come back down to that at some point too.

Unfortunately due to family members in poor health we can't hold off on getting a new one so I picked it up locally from PBTech. It's transferring everything now and she's super happy that her case fits (I was very surprised the new phone is identical looking to the old one). It's so identical in fact, I was triple checking to make sure they gave me the correct phone.

Thank you all again for the help! You've all saved my bacon so to speak.

Too late for the OP - but to others who come across this thread, consider https://www.goodtech.co.nz.  I have bought 2 Iphone 2022 SEs at different times and both were good quality and excellent value.  They also stock the Iphone 16e - reportedly the SE replacement.

Yup agree with Goodtech. Got my missus an Iphone 14 Pro Max from them recently. Great to deal with and a free upgrade to a new battery. Cool little store in Grey Lynn.

As an interesting comparison, they have iPhone 13s from $600 - $730.  I just bought a brand new one from Noel Leeming for $778.
