Hi,

I have a Apple Watch SE (Model A2727) sourced from the US. I can pair with my iPhone locally via Bluetooth.

However I was wondering whether I can get cellular access here in NZ. I am with One NZ on long term plan and was keen to know if they CAN activate the eSim in the watch to work on their network.

Of course that doesn't mean they would :-)

Appreciate any insight.

Thanks

Pete

@PLC Can't you just activate this yourself and try it? Sure it is done via the OneNZ App

https://one.nz/faq/onenumber-how-to-activate

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, scroll down and tap Add a new Plan.
  2. Tap Set Up Mobile.
  3. Enter your My One NZ username and password if prompted to log in, then tap Login.
  4. Red the terms and conditions, tick the box to agree, then tap Accept.
  5. If successful, a confirmation screen will pop up to let you know your OneNumber will be activated. Tap Done.
  6. A text will be sent when your OneNumber is active.

Thanks for the reply.

That's the issue.......the option to Set Up Mobile is there but not able to be activated. My question is whether it is a hardware issue or whether the local carrier - in this case One - can activate it?

Interested to know if anyone has run into this and what was outcome.

I suspect the issue is related to the watch obtained from the US and no OneNZ will not activate it due to compatibility issues
