I had suffered a HD crash on my old pc and lost it all. I have upgraded to the new iPhone OS 2.2.1 on my touch first gen and I want to go back to the origional 2.0 firmware. Before some of you jump to conclusions... I have paid for the software legit and I just need a link so I can download it though iTunes preferably.

Thanks in advance... serious answers only plz.. not "oh why would you wanna do that..."

A quick google search could go a long way. Please try that.

Just out of curiosity, you say here: "I have upgraded to the new iPhone OS 2.2.1 on my touch first gen"

can you please clarify as to whether we are talking about an iPhone or an iPod touch here?

The OS is called iPhone OS on both devices. I am  using an iPod touch. I have already searched for the 2.0 but all the links are capped at downloads of about 20kbps. taking hours to download, I want to know if there is a link to an official iTunes download or some other reasonably fast download link. As said before, I've already paid for it legit, it seems dumb to pirate it.

I found a link for pretty much every firmware for all the devices via Google pretty easily and downloaded it at around 400KB/sec. As the iPod software is "kinda" commercial versus the free iPhone version (thieving Apple), I probably shouldn't provide a direct-link to it, but look on the iClarified site.
