Seems the Offical IPCC files for vodafone NZ have been released..
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/CarrierBundles/061-6562.20090612.AvshB/Vodafone_nz.ipcc

3 APNs

www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz (type-mask = 1 (data))
live.vodafone.com (type-mask = 4 (mms))
www.vodafone.net.nz (type-mask = 48 (32+16))

Its not known 100% yet what the 32+16 type masks are for yet

16 = ??
32 = ??

8 was thought to be the APN for tethering but none of the have bit 8 enabled) only 1,4,16,32

so maybe it the APN used for location services?

Someone who has a 3G phone may want to install and see what comes out?

Can someone from vodafone say if tethering wil be enabled so it will help guess what the type-masks bits mean??

I Had someone test it and tethering option is there after an update , but it says to contact vodafone to get it "enabled" so type 16 or 32 enable this option I guess

When I used your test 1 and test 8 files it to said I needed to contact vodafone, until I clicked it a few times and then it worked

If i install the ipcc file, is there anyway I can uninstall it like i can uninstall the mobileprofile items?

not really.. you can just overwrite it with another.

the offical one has Data (APN Editable), MMS Enabled and Auth Tethering (enabled via some special way via Vodafone's Network)

I have changed the Official One a little which you can try. It enabled tethering (turned on) and MMSC Editing (if needed). Let me knwo if it works..

Hrrm since I have it working a mobile config file I think I might leave it at that in case I break anything. Will keep an eye open for any more developments though.

This seems to indicate a similar bit mask structure for Optus in AU

Yes.. I know about the bitmasks already..

http://www.unlockit.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=5.0

the 1st 4 are known 100% (Data, VVM,MMS,Tethering)

the 5th and 6th seem to have to do with tethering and if there are any more.. dunno as I have no seen anthing above 63 as of yet.

5+6 are set when the Carrier has to Auth the Tethering..

I have edited the files so that tethering now works.

Download the files below:

I don't know what charges you will incur if you use tethering over Mobile Data so don't blame me if you get a huge bill!

Shouldn't the last type-mask be 8 not -2.. -2 was a hack someone suggested a while ago and every stayed with but its not really the way of doing it as far as I know..

try the http://www.unlockit.co.nz/IPCC/Vodafone_nz.NEW.ipcc which has them set to 1,4,8 (internet,MMSC,Tethering) .

Thanks

I've updated the .ipcc files above to include new ones with the Vodafone logo. If you don't want the logo just use the 'Standard' ones.
