I was waiting for the 3.0 to come out, get home from school, put iPod touch (first gen) into dock and click update, it says there is one available (3.0 ofcourse), but what was interesting is the fact it only said

*download only
*download and install
*cancel

It didnt charge me becuase I only had $1.34 on my account and I had no credit / debit card attached to the account either.

I downloaded and installed and it is working perfect. Anyone else had this?

I say this again, it was an iPod Touch First Gen, not an iPhone, I know the iPhone gets the update for free...

The one I installed pre Apple launch is the same version that was officially released on iTunes yesterday, the one Apple want to charge $10 for ipod touch users to install.

Charged me $13.99 too, although Apple's press release said $19. I think webup's quoting the US price.

OP count yourself lucky, I would think. Must have been an accidental slip up from Apple.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.
