I switched my iphone onto the xt network a day after launch day. Since then my iphone:

makes sms alerts but when i check the phone the network signal has dropped and come back but no sms! is that normal?

alot of network lost messages come up, but im in central wellington and christchurch with full reception!

woth receive texts sometimes, i have to text my self for them to flood in.

drops calls.

Is it the sim card or something? because it was fine on vodafone.

No way its the SIM card that just IDs you onto the network

Is the phone locked to 3G only?

I have had my iPhone 3G on XT since launch day and have not had any of those problems. I used to get call failed or call lost on vodafone everyday but has only happened once on XT. Have you called telecom to check everything ok with your account at their end.
