Hey all,

I did a bit of a search but couldn't find anything on this...

The "Data Roaming" setting in the network menu of the iPhone settings - does this need to be turned on to use 3G in your own country? For some reason when I turn it off, 3G stops working.

Any ideas why this might be?

I've got a 3G iPhone running 3.0, on the Telecom XT network.

Cheers.

Is the phone jailbroken or hacked in anyway or a standard activated 3G Iphone from Vodafone with a XT Sim in it?

Not jailbroken. It's from Vodafone with an XT sim.

The reason i'm a bit confused is because before I had to do a restore yesterday, the data roaming setting didn't need to be on for 3G to work.
