Over the last 4days of owning the 3GS i have found the battery has been lasting the day, with a bit of txting music games etc, Wifi on most of the day 3G always on also with XT. Im hoping for this to increase a little

i have found it to be very fast and responsive and very nice to txt and call on.

I have no heat issues or cover issues ( I have a White one ).

I am having great fun learning the app Store and what it can offer.

How have you found it so far?

Got mine this morning and it is noticeably faster in all respects.
The camera is certainly better with its focussing. Video quality looks quite acceptable and at 30 fps.
Will report back in a few days

Very speedy. Camera is good quality (for a phone), GPS is accurate and it's use in the maps application with the compass is pretty cool. Battery is impressive.

Buying a dock for it tonight :D.

Thats actually an interesting question.

How much usage is using GPS and maps and other similar technologies?

I find that maps with the GPS uses hardly anything. However, if you use satellite view you're going to pay for those large image files.

Newguy: I bought a 3G dock off a friend who got his free with his iPhone (from VFNZ).

The data speed is crap however. Did test in three sites around Hamilton and best I got was about 115 kbits.

Changed the apn setting and managed to double that but it seems to be a fluke. Afterwards went back to around 115.

'I did a test with a m8 last weekend - he has a Nokia 6121

We tethered our phones to laptops.

He was consistently getting much faster than me.

Today I used the speedtest app on the iphone.

It appears to be an issue with the chip in the Iphone itself by the looks.
I believe mos of the areas tested have been HSDPA enabled and should in theory be capable of 7.2 Mbit

Im on XT, and getting download speeds between 3-3.5Mbps where i live. Upload is however slow.. around 90-100kbps.

Even on wifi I dont get above 120kbps. Has anyone experienced this.

So yes, poor upload speed, definitely a problem with the iphone itself.
