Kia ora folks

Seem to be having a teething problem with my iPhone 3GS. It locates and connects to my WiFi just fine, but I get timeout errors on Safari, iTunes, Appstore etc.

It is a stock standard 3GS, not jailbroken (yet).

When I disable WiFi I can browse and do everything on 3G fine...

Any ideas?

Hi There is a wifi network at my school that does the same thing. It connects no problem. But I can't do anything as it times out

I have had the same problem with my iPhone 3G on my home wifi. Had to turn phone off and on to get it working.

My home wifi does the same a few times a day.
Something to do with the router.
I reset it and it works again.
Ive looked into it but still cant find a reason why this happens.
Its a PITA

Try setting static IPs on your home wifi for your iPhone, also setting DNS and GW on the iphone rather than DHCP providing the details and see if that works for you.

Not ideal but can be helpful in figuring out if its dhcp or not.

Do you have an all in one router/wifi or are you using and ADSL modem through a seperate WiFi?

It can happen at time, just turn off the WiFi, wait for a minute or two, then reenable it. Usually it should fix itself.

Internet is my backyard...
