I have never ever got this feature to work.

Now that I have a mobile data plan I thought I would try to get it going again. So I tried all the multiple suggestions on all sorts of websites suggesting reset this and reset that. But to no avail.

I even made a new Yahoo! Account but again no Push. Even worse having Push on sometimes means the Backup 15 min fetch doesn't even poll/fetch. So I have it back to 15 fetch with push off.

This is supposed to be supported on free Yahoo mail but I have had issues since 1.14 and 3.0 has not solved it.

I now have a jailbroken iPhone 3G running 3.0.

Any ideas?

As long as you have followed everything on this link, then it should really work.

Why not try www.alol.net.br?

its a free/donation funded MS exchange service.

I've been using it for the last 3 months and it pushes new emails to me with a 5 second delay..

Yahoo Push Email

What instructions are you talking about? Because if you refer to what I paste below, that is simply how to set up your iPhone to check Yahoo! Mail. I'm not getting PUSHed mail, only on poll.

I'm not the only one experiencing headaches with this.

How to get Yahoo! Mail on your iPhone:
If this is your first mail account, simply:

  1. Select Mail

  2. Select Y! Mail

  3. Input your name, email address and password. You’re set!

If you already have a mail account and would like to add another:

  1. Select Settings

  2. Select the Mail option

  3. Select Add Account

  4. Select Y! Mail

  5. Input your name, email address and password. You’re set!

Thanks. I will look at that because Yahoo is hopeless. Problem is that I already have 69* email address and Yahoo has a lot of useful archived emails in it (unlimited size too).

Any catches with this website and how likely is it they will pull the "free" service later?

I remember Yahoo use to have free POP but then withdrew that.

*may not actually be this many

I had concerns initially. It seems to be backed by a large Brazilian ISP.

You can set all your emails to forward to the email address so you don't miss out on any emails.

I've got my yahoo, live all forwarded to my gmail account which forwards all emails to alol.. Works well and gmail gets rid of all the spam..

the guy who runs alol is really nice and helpful. he seems to work for the ISP alol and is running exchange server in background as an additional service for free of cost.

free account gets you 150MB storage and 25MB attachments.

Make a donation and change
"From" when you send or reply a mail to your yahoo mail account! Get 100MB Attachment Size! And get 1GB storage!

what I did was forward my gmail emails to my alol adddress. if yahoo lets you forward -emails then just do that and you will still have your yahoo mails working.

I can't set up my xtra email address to get push. Even though people are saying if I enter it under yahoo on the iPhone it should work?
