You brought a iphone from China and you expect it to be a real one?

Yes chances are it is an iPhone clone, or rather a iPhoney (LOL). It would look similar but lack the true functionality and frequences for the XT Network. It probably only has GSM/GPRS (Vodafone/2d).

Got a photo of it?

Some question may help:

- Does it required iTunes to activate? If not, it's a fake.
- Does it have dual SIM slots? If yes, it's a fake.
- Does it have a stylus? If yes, it's a fake.
- Does it have mobile TV? If yes, it's a fake.

Fail.

I bought a 2G iPhone from china more than 2 years ago( i think) and I made sure it was the real deal.

It didnt require itunes to unlock as it had already been jailbroken and activated. Its still going strong!

However, i knew it was a genuine article. I did pay around $600 for it too i think.

At the time it was a hot deal!

The force is strong with this one!

hey I got an iphone as well but out of curiosity I tried to connect it to Telecom XT and it didn't work. However my phone is okay as I'm using it to connect to Vodafone.

My phone was purchased outside New Zealand.

I've jailbroken my iphone with latest firmwares too.. hehehe

You cant get them on trademe, as they will pull anything that looks like an apple product despite replicas being allowed for all other manufacturers.

A friend said it was most likly due to apples advertising budget with trademe's newspaper owners and some orders coming down the line to get apple lookalikes removed from TM.

Shame, since some of the ipod touch looking players are quite good now. TM seem to think that anything with a touchscreen and about the same size is a ipod touch lookalike and pull them. Really suckky of them since they are being judge/jury/etc which should be not legal but is for some reason.
