hi guys,

I updated an app on cydia and since then my phone wont boot, I just get the pinapple logo sitting there. I'm jailbroken 3.1.2 using pwnagetool. So I'm trying to get it into DFU mode to restore the firmware and I just keep getting the 1600 error.

I'm not 100% sure I'm in DFU mode as the screen is blank but iphones says its in recovery mode.

One problem is I cant turn the phone off with out it rebooting hence having problems getting into DFU mode. I've got mac and a pc so can try various tools. I've downloaded iReb but no luck..

Anyone else had a similar issue?

Cheers,

Does anyone have a guide on how to JailBreak a new iPod Touch 8GB 3rd Gen (MC model)?
I have heard their are "tethering" issues - not really 100% sure what that actually means etc..

It currently has v3.1.3 firmware installed.

You don't need to worry about tethering on an iPod touch as it is an iPhone only feature of th iPhone os.

I cant get this thing into DFU mode or recovery mode. It boots up and it does an fsck on the root volume for awhile and then reboots. Holding the top right button doesnt turn it off either...

anyone got some ideas? I've tried irecover but it cant make a connection to the phone.

I've restored 3.1.3 back onto the phone as I needed to be taking calls for work. Took me about an hour to get it into DFU mode!

While I knew I could be stuck there I do have the older bootrom. Just reading the dev team blog and looks like I dont have any options, my ssh keys are in cydia (I'm pretty sure).

So what are my options? I'm still searching..

If you have hashes in Cydia then you can downgrade your firmware to whatever build you have hashes for. This should allow you to jailbreak although it may be a tethered jailbreak - I'm not 100% sure.

Well I was about 200% my hashes were in cydia in fact I was showing a mate the other day where to look but I haven't been successful in retreaving them hence I'm still stuck on 3.1.3 and havnt been able to downgrade... oh well thems the brakes. I've also tried the umbrella tool but it does not know about me :(

Just to be sure I tried every version of 3.x just to be safe and I got nothing damit.
