This discussion is pointless. Apple said at their keynote it will be released in NZ in July. So to answer your question it will be released between 1st and 31st July. No one has any inside info. Apple will tell us when they're ready, that's how they roll.

As the iPhone 4 hasn't even come out yet, I suspect the iPhone 4g will be at least a year or more away

Also note, it's not "iPhone 4G" it's "iPhone 4".

I attended a press web conference with Ericsson last month, and Qualcomm this month... They are pushing it hard, but it's not going to be here next month.
